Join exhibiting artists, mel monoceros and Christina Battle via Zoom link on the gallery’s Facebook page for a tour of their exhibitions at the AGSM.
Artist, Christina Battle will discuss her participatory installation where visitors and members are invited to plant and map prairie grass seeds on at least 4 different occasions across October when the TERRA satellite is passing overhead (of Brandon, Edmonton, and Regina).
mel monoceros discusses how “stitching these botanical kin into form, is an exercise in ancestral reconnection to and conversation with both my own colonially severed indigenous root threads and the creatures and creator(s) of the land where I make my home.”
