Walk and Talk with Anishinaabe Knowledge-Keeper, Barb Blind with a Performance by Grass Dancer, Sam Jackson.

Head down to the Discovery Centre at the Riverbank where the AGSM will be hosting an outdoor ‘walk and talk’ with Anishinaabe Knowledge-Keeper, Barb Blind.

Learn about Barb’s relationship to the land and traditional uses of sweetgrass. Grass Dancer Sam Jackson will share a legend that explains the symbolism of the Grass Dance. Sam will repeat his performance so that the audience may see what the dance represents.

This special event is being held in conjunction with the fall exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba which explore themes of environment and landscape through the media of film, video, and embroidery.

Explore the prairie landscape in a safe outdoor setting with plenty of room for social distancing while connecting with community and friends. Please dress for the weather.

A staff member from the Riverbank Discovery Centre will be on hand to share additional information about the Riverbank Discovery Centre and our enduring prairie landscape.

The Riverbank Discovery Centre will be providing coffee to visitors attending the outdoor event!
