The International Baccalaureate students in the Visual Arts program at Ècole Secondaire Neelin High School present Apart, Yet Connected. Guided by their teacher, Ms. Tara Leach, the students explore what it means to create art and reflect on their creative goals and styles. It has been wonderful to work on this exhibition during a time when there has been much isolation in the community due to the pandemic. The students’ work and creativity continue to connect us, inspire us, and lift our spirits. This 2020 showcase from Neelin includes the work of several IB students who began taking art classes at the AGSM years ago when I first joined the AGSM team, and it has been a joy to witness the students’ artistic journeys over the years. Ms. Leach often brings her art class to the gallery and the students always amaze us with their thoughtful insight and detailed sketches when viewing and discussing the exhibitions. We are proud to support Brandon’s youth, and excited to be able to share the creative work and voices of the Neelin IB students with the community, both online and in-person.

All our art pieces are connected to each other, through the themes within our exhibitions and because of our time together as a group, yet each piece is shown apart/separately from each other. In addition, due to the COVID-19 virus, we are all viewing this exhibition apart from each other but it is something that connects us to each other.
