The Brandon Embroiderers began as a small group in the summer of 1998. Evolving and thriving over two decades, the embroiderers meet weekly in order to preserve traditional techniques, as well as offer new challenges in contemporary embroidery for those interested. Members range from advanced participants to beginners, who join weekly to work on their own projects, advance their skills, and simply enjoy the fellowship. All are welcome, united by their love of fibres, colour, and design.

In celebration of their 25th anniversary, The Long and Short of it showcases recent work by members of the Brandon Embroiderers, as well as one youth member. Dazzling traditional and contemporary techniques will be featured, including blackwork, Hardanger, canvas work, cross stitch, crewel, goldwork, candlewicking, needle painting, ribbon, and stumpwork.
