The AGSM is pleased to announce that the public will have the opportunity to meet international artist Emily Jan in-person as she conducts an artist residency at the AGSM this January. Visitors have a chance to gain valuable insight into Jan’s creative process as she creates ceramic artwork for her upcoming exhibition Kali Yuga. Learn about Emily Jan’s methods as she explores clay in the AGSM Ceramics Studio and incorporates it into her installations. This is a unique opportunity for the community to see an artist in action, ask questions, and learn more about what inspires Emily Jan.
We encourage the public, all of our Art Gallery Members, as well as students in the upcoming AGSM classes to register for this free event and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and light refreshments.
Jan is an American artist and writer from San Francisco, currently based in Edmonton, Alberta. She calls herself a wanderer, naturalist, and collector of objects and stories, guided in her work by a spirit of exploration, kinship, and curiousity.
