Making Our Mark began in 2017 as a collaboration between the AGSM and Brandon Pride to provide a platform for local 2SLGBTQIA+ artists to show their work in a variety of mediums and themes. This community exhibition was planned to showcase every other year as part of Pride Week events to bring people and art together for celebration and discussion, and it continued into 2019. Changing exhibition schedules and the pandemic had this collaboration come to a pause… until now.

We are thrilled to announce that Making Our Mark III is returning to the AGSM’s Kayes Family Community Gallery, debuting proudly during Brandon Pride Week 2026, “Brick by Brick”. This exhibition explores how individuals of this community express themselves, challenge mainstream understandings of queer identities, and put a unique stamp on representation through art. Submitted works detail personal journeys of discovering identity, interests, and creative hobbies by 2SLGBTQIA+ artists based in the Westman area.

Making Our Mark III will have an opening reception event on Thursday, June 11th, 2026.
