Inspired by the Group of Seven and the shifting landscape he calls home, Daryl Hicks’ immense landscape paintings chronicle the hours he spends driving and hiking through the back roads and sand hills of Southern Manitoba. Together with his wife Tamara, they chase weather, clouds, and sunlight as they move across the prairies. The paintings in Light are based on photographs from these travels, narrating how the mood of the landscape changes with the shifting light.
