A community art project with Chris Cooper in conjunction with the Brandon Neighbourhood Renewal Corporation and participants from Brandon Correctional Centre, Brandon Embroiderers, Brandon Friendship Centre, Shilo Military Family Resource Centre, Westman Women’s Shelter, Seniors for Seniors, The Women’s Resource Centre, Elspeth Reid Family Resource Centre, Westman Immigrant Services, Brandon Energy Efficient Program (BEEP), “Bookies” (Brandon Bookmakers), MS Society Westman Chapter, Westway Bay Family Resource Centre, AGSM students, and individual community members. Cooper worked with these local groups and individuals to gather ideas of what home means to them. Groups discussed what challenges are they facing and what they do to make home a good place to be. They responded with artwork, writing, audio recordings, drawings, paintings, sculpture, embroidery, photography, textiles, and more.
