This week-long course introduces participants to the exciting art of lino block printing and the process of creating multiple editions of an original design. Students will learn the fundamentals of composing images specifically suited to the lino cut process, then transfer, carve, ink, and print their own unique works of art.
Participants will explore essential printmaking techniques including safe carving practices, inking methods, proper press usage, and edition labeling, for a professional series of prints. Through guided instruction and hands-on practice, students will gain an understanding of how drawings can be transformed into reproducible works of art.
This is a great course for anyone who loves drawing and wants to explore printmaking as a creative way to reproduce and share their artwork. Most materials are supplied.
