Explore your creative side through drawing, painting and printmaking and then move onto that wonderful squishy stuff called clay for creating beautiful things. A great week of mornings to explore one’s artistic imagination. Wear your messy clothes!
Mornings will feature:
• Draw, Print, Make a Book — A series of classes that show students how to convert their drawings to prints then bind them to make books.
After exploring drawing techniques such as cross-hatching and stippling, students will transfer their drawings to foam prints to make their own sketchbooks and artists’ books to share.
• Creature Feature Sculptures — Students will use clay to throw slabs and roll coils
then sculpt them into animal and monster containers to make art that is fun and useful. Then, they will use mixed media to inspire the creation of more creatures and combine them into a low relief sculpture that hangs on the wall.
