Join renowned artist Jude Griebel on a tour of the exhibition Peripheral Beings, on display in the AGSM Main Gallery from September 3 – November 21, 2026. Although Griebel is most known for his hyper-detailed sculptural practice, this exhibition also includes his initial drawings, so visitors can trace the artist’s process from idea, to contradiction, to manifestation.
The tour will begin at 12 PM. Refreshments will be served, but no food or beverages are allowed inside the Main Gallery.

Jude Griebel is a Canadian sculptor working between Calgary, Alberta and New York City. He creates intensively detailed figurative sculptures and drawings that visualize our entanglement with the surrounding world. Griebel has completed numerous international residencies where he has researched depleted ecologies and industrial agricultural sites. He is the co-founder and director of The Museum of Fear and Wonder, in Alberta; a privately run museum that highlights the narrative and psychological qualities of expressive, historic craft. He is a 2026 Sobeys Art Award Nominee and a 2026 Guggenheim Fellow.
