Have you always wanted to try throwing on the potter’s wheel? This one-week crash course is the perfect introduction to the creative world of wheel-thrown ceramics. Designed for beginners, the course will guide participants through the foundational techniques needed to create forms on the pottery wheel.
Students will learn essential skills including clay preparation through wedging, centering clay on the wheel, and pulling cylinders to build functional and decorative forms. Demonstrations and hands-on instruction will also introduce tooling and finishing techniques used to complete ceramic pieces.
This course offers a fun and supportive environment for anyone interested in experiencing the art of pottery for the first time. Clay will be provided.
