For fans of comics, animation, and anime, it’s easy to become immersed in the story and overlook the creativity behind the art and design. This exciting week-long course focuses on the foundation of every great narrative—characters!
Participants will explore how artists and animators communicate personality, emotion, and storytelling through character design. Through character analysis, drawing exercises, and creative development activities, students will learn how shape, expression, clothing, posture, and style all contribute to building compelling and memorable characters.
Using these techniques, participants will design and bring their own original characters to life while developing their personal storytelling ideas and artistic voice. This class is a must for anyone interested in comics, animation, anime, or creating unique characters for their own stories and worlds.
