with Cecilia Araneda

This introductory workshop will provide an introduction to narrative story structure that is a common foundation for short and feature films.

Through case studies and group discussions, this workshop will provide an overview of the key structural elements of narrative fiction film. Topics covered include three act structure, screenplay format, and character development.

Participants should register with a basic story idea, to workshop their idea in class, to support structure development that participants can continue to develop after the workshop.

Registered participants should submit a short summary of their story idea (two paragraphs maximum) by Wednesday February 6 to [email protected] with the subject line “workshop story idea.”

NOTE: This program is part of a new pilot project at the AGSM in the media arts.
