Plein-air painting, in its strictest sense, is the practice of painting landscape outdoors. More loosely, the achievement of an intense impression of the open air in landscape painting.
This weekend class will explore the art of plein-air. Working outdoors with artist Weiming Zhao, students will learn how to lay out landscapes and capture light, weather, and environment quickly. Students will encounter the various landscapes around us during weekly excursions. Whether in oil, acrylic, or watercolour, this is a great class for painters to improve their skills.
Basic painting and drawing knowledge is required for this class.
