JANUARY 25 - ORIGAMI AND RECYCLED PAPER ABSTRACT ART 

Learn some basic to intermediate origami folds, and complete a small kinetic paper structure. Create a beautiful paper abstract work of art with pattern, shape, and line. Develop fine motor skills, anD experience joy, satisfaction, and pride in your own work.

     

FEBRUARY 1 - SUPERHERO INSPIRATIONS

Bring your imagination to life as you learn to draw characters and sketch dynamic poses. Movies and graphic novels will provide a rich source of inspiration for your paintings and drawings. Have fun learning about proportions and drawing the figure in this popular class!

     

FEBRUARY 8 - INTRO TO ANIME AND CARTOONING 

Inspired by anime, your favourite games and cartoons, bring your imagination to life. Develop methods to draw cartoons, create storyboards, and design your own unique characters.

     

FEBRUARY 15 - DREAMCATCHERS

Working with a hoop, leather, sinew, beads, and feathers, students will learn weaving skills as they create their own beautiful dreamcatcher. Learn traditional teachings and the history of dreamcatchers.

     

FEBRUARY 22 - THE WORLD OF JK ROWLING  

Calling all wizards, witches, muggles, and magical folk to a class inspired by JK Rowling’s books. Create animal patronuses, wands, and work with watercolour, pen and ink. Express yourself and have fun as you compete for the house cup!

     

FEBRUARY 29 - TOYS, ART, US: DRAWING SKILLZ 

Develop your skills as a young artist and learn techniques to draw people and characters. Practice drawing faces, proportions, features, figures, and animals. Work with a variety of drawing media including pencil, markers, pen and ink.

     

MARCH 7 - BE AN ART STAR! 

Students will learn about the significance of the Star Blanket and explore Indigenous art and culture. Finding inspiration from local murals and public art projects, students will learn how to draw and paint colourful geometric designs on a small and large scale.

     

MARCH 14 - COLOUR POP

Work with inks, paper, wax and juicy colours to create jewel-like treasures and imaginative drawings. Develop your ability to create interesting, dynamic compositionsand express yourself
